The Dayak Research Center (DRC): SEKADAU: –
On January 4, 2025, the Institut Teknologi Keling Kumang (ITKK) Sekadau will unveil three new Research Centers.

This marks a significant step in the university’s commitment to growth and its focus on research-driven education.

Dr. Stefanus Masiun, the Rector of ITKK, announced that the three centers will be: the Dayak Research Center (DRC), led by Masri Sareb Putra, M.A., the Cooperatives Research Center and Indigenous Peoples, headed by Suroto and the Climate Change and SDGs Research Center, headed by Andang Binawan, Ph. D.

These new research centers are designed not only as hubs for gathering researchers but also as think tanks focused on finding innovative, actionable solutions to societal challenges.

According to Dr. Masiun, "These Centers will do more than just bring together researchers; they will be a source of ideas and solutions that can be accessed by governments, communities, and businesses alike."

One of the main objectives behind the establishment of these centers is to solidify ITKK’s status as a research-based institution. "We want to make ITKK a university that’s rooted in research, producing outcomes that will directly benefit society," Dr. Masiun stated.

Masiun added that the research generated by the three centers will be published and made available to contribute solutions to various problems faced by communities, both locally and globally.

Dr. Masiun also emphasized that ITKK aims to play an active role in solving societal issues. "ITKK is part of the solution," he said, quoting the university’s motto, "Dari Sekadau untuk bangsa -- From Sekadau for the nation."

With the launch of these centers, ITKK hopes to enhance the quality of its research and strengthen its role in sustainable development, particularly in addressing climate change, empowering indigenous communities, and promoting cooperative development.

The launch of these Research Centers will coincide with Christmas celebrations and the welcoming of the New Year 2025, making it a significant moment for the entire ITKK community. There is great hope that these centers will bring about greater progress for the people of Sekadau and the nation as a whole.
